Dr. Apfelbaum is a primary care physician with special interest in women’s health, nutrition, weight loss, pain management, autoimmune disease, and allergies. Dr. Apfelbaum always knew she wanted to go into the healthcare field, but did not think prescription medications should be the only choice for treatment of chronic illness. Naturopathic medicine allows her to use many different treatment options for healing, such as diet, nutrition, supplements, hands-on manual therapy, and lifestyle modifications with good success. She believes every person has a unique healing journey and should be treated individually.
Having additional training in pain management, she uses many different tools in physical medicine, including trigger point injections, manual therapy, and nutritional supplements to manage pain, rarely having to rely on prescription medications. While studying naturopathic medicine, Dr. Apfelbaum completed the coursework for a massage therapy and incorporates this knowledge into her treatments.
Dr. Apfelbaum likes to spend time in the community giving health presentations, attending events, and spreading wellness education to others. She has experience in public radio, and writes a monthly health column for the Woodinville Weekly newspapers. She is an active member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians, and on the Board of Directors for the Washington Association of Naturopathic Physicians and is an educator for the Evergreen Hospital Wellness Outreach program.
