Vis (Pronounced “VEES”) is derived from the naturopathic principle, Vis Medicatrix Naturae, a Latin phrase meaning “the healing power of nature.” This is a reference to the human body’s innate healing ability and the resources available to support healing. Vis is the foremost principle by which I operate as a naturopathic doctor, so it was with great intentionality that I incorporated it into my practice name.
The seeds of Vis Natural Health were sown in a very personal quest for wellness. A family health crisis in my childhood led my parents to explore alternative avenues of health. Their experiences inspired me, sparking a profound realization that true health embraces the body, mind, and spirit. I am in pursuit of wholeness and invite others to join me. Here at Vis Natural Health, I’ve channeled my passion for holistic well-being into a beacon of hope for those seeking lasting health transformations.
My personal pursuit of wholeness, interwoven with my ongoing study of nature, science, and tradition, guides my approach to health. I completed my undergraduate degree in biochemistry from Messiah University in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, where I gained a deep appreciation for basic science and the vital role of philosophy, spirituality, and culture in our healing journeys. I then trained in the naturopathic medical program at the National University of Natural Medicine (NUNM) in Portland, Oregon. At NUNM, I earned my doctorate and provided care in the teaching clinics under the supervision of naturopathic physicians. My journey spans lab science, medical texts, and clinical care, yet it also ventures into the heart of nature, shaping a distinct perspective on health and vitality. Outside of my work as a doctor, I enjoy quality time with family and friends, dancing, reading, the great outdoors, and cooking adventures. I take the naturopathic principle of “doctor as teacher” seriously, and I do my best to practice the lifestyle that I teach! My life is full, but rich in reasons to be grateful.
